Axis wins both gold and platinum awards at the 2013 Loo of the Year Awards

The 26th annual Loo of the Year Awards - dubbed the Toilet Oscars - took place in Solihull, recognising and rewarding the very best washrooms in the UK.

Following the awards ceremony on 6th December 2013, Axis Cleaning and Support Services is proud to announce that five of its customer sites where cleaning services are managed by Axis have won both gold and platinum awards as well as Attendant of the Year awards.

Two of its customer sites also entered the awards independently: Victoria Shopping Centre, Southend on Sea, and Harvey Shopping Centre, and went on to win platinum awards.


Platinum Winners

New Square Shopping Centre, West Bromwich; and Wellington Town Council, Telford

The Wellington Town Parade Toilet Block was opened in 2010 and is located adjacent to the Town’s Bus station and is managed by Axis Cleaning and Support Services on behalf of the Town Council. Howard Perkins, Town Clerk said that “the toilets were of a very high quality as a result of the very hard working members of staff.”

The cleaning staff -Tina Shuttleworth, Kirsty Shuttleworth and Linda Richmond were further awarded with Attendant of the Year awards as a result of the overall award.

Gold Winners

Squire Sanders, Manchester; RAF Museum Cosford; and Llandudno Town Council

Llandudno Town Council cleaning staff, Gwilym Hughes, was also awarded Attendant of the Year award.
