Cleaner awarded for identifying issue on customer site

On Friday 25th September, Axis cleaner Jamie Hammett was presented an award by customer Alstom, at their Chester Depot for identifying a 'Close Call' on their site.

Jamie is part of the depot cleaning team at Chester and while working he noticed a train with a coolant leak on the undercarriage about to go out into test service. He immediately stopped the train and informed the Alstom Production Manager who pulled the train back into the depot for further inspection where the leak was identified and immediately repaired.

The Traincare Centre Manager, Ben Cooke, wanted to recognise Jamie and Axis on this matter, as Jamie helped avoid severe interruption to passenger services across the weekend including the Chester-Cardiff-Holyhead routes.

Jamie was recognised with £25 vouchers from Alstom, and £50 bonus from Axis Cleaning and Support management.
